TEXTILE EXHIBITION

Our felt and leather-work is included in an exhibition of textiles at The Craftgranary, Cahir, Co. Tipperary from today, Saturday 13th April and for the next three weeks.

The two felt-works featured here form part of the exhibition.

FELT SHARDS
The Stone Age is so called because stone survives, while the textiles and many other materials of the time are long gone.

FELT SHARDS
re-imagines Stone Age art in a textile medium.  The fractured nature of the shards reminds us of the incomplete picture we have of our ancient past.

ABORIGINAL
Felting is a natural process and felt may well have been the first human-made fabric.  What would these first pieces of fabric have looked like?

ABORIGINAL plays with some of the motifs of Irish Stone Age Passage Grave Art, which may be sun symbols, and frames them with a known symbol for water from Australian Aboriginal Art
