Currently, his work is 100% hand-made, but he is also developing on a range of machine-stitched bags.
Len uses vegetable-tanned leather, produced by a long-established family business in the English Midlands. He hand-stitches his bags and other products using a strong, harness maker's saddle-stitch.
Over the years, Len has developed and refined his own methods for dyeing and embellishing his leatherwork. Surface decoration on his work includes Celtic knot-work and motifs inspired by prehistoric Irish rock carvings, such as spirals.
While Len's work is very much rooted in the traditional, it also has a contemporary appeal.
